ROOTED

CHC's Dual Credit Academics & Discipleship Program

Rooted is a Dual Credit program for students in 10th through 12th grade and allows students to earn both high school and college credit simultaneously through Colorado Christian University. CCU-Academy is a well-established program used by over 200 schools for in person Dual Credit, as well as over 700 individual online dual credit students.

A Blending of Academics

and Discipleship

Rooted seeks to deliver quality education that has been sown in and grown from the soil of a Biblically centered worldview. It accomplishes this through its unique combination of academics and discipleship, allowing high school students to earn college credits while growing in their knowledge and experience of God.

Academics

Students can expect distinct, meaningful, and high-class coursework offered by Colorado Christian University and taught from a Christian worldview.

Course Duration

Each semester runs for 15 weeks, beginning in late August and January. Students may enroll in 2 to 5 courses per semester. Completed courses count as credit toward both high school graduation (for homeschool students) and college transcripts.

Course Format

Courses are delivered in a blend of formats, including in-person instruction and both asynchronous and synchronous online learning.

Earn a Degree

Full-time students have the opportunity to pursue an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree, which can be completed in 2 to 3 years, depending on their chosen pace.

Discipleship

Rooted Discipleship is a year-long course that students will take alongside CCU’s curriculum and is designed to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus through time, teaching, relationships, and hands-on ministry.

Leadership

Rooted Discipleship is specially designed for high school students and will be led by Pastors Aaron and Anna Cyboron, along with CHC Director Leah Rixmann.

Content

Students will meet weekly with their Rooted Cohort to study God’s Word and character, explore identity and purpose in Christ, and grow in spiritual maturity.

Students will also participate in monthly ministry and learning events, offering opportunities to live out their faith and connect with believers across various spheres of business and ministry.

Missions

The program will culminate with a 10–14 day mission trip in June, providing students with a transformative, hands-on experience in service and outreach.

Tuition Information

CHC’s parternship with CCU affords students and their families substantial savings on college credits when compared to traditional college tuition. Credits are transferable to most universities.

CCU Credit Costs

Please inquire at CHC for tuition costs.

AA Degrees and Transfer Credits

CCU- Academy will accept transfer credits, (up to 75% of an AA) from other dual credit programs.

AA degrees are available through CCU (60 credits) and would necessitate 15 credits per semester.

Rooted Discipleship Program

The rooted program includes the full discipleship program, which also fulfills a 3-credit Bible course.

End-of-Course Missions Trip Costs

The total costs for Rooted’s mission trip are not factored into Rooted’s initial cost.

Class Information

CHC is beyond excited to integrate CCU’s content with our own, as CCU-Academy is a well-established program used by over 200 schools for in person dual credit and by over 700 students for online dual credit.

Structure

Students enroll through Colorado Christian University for both types of class. Online classes which have a full cohort (17 students) may be able to have live zoom lessons with professors. Online courses will have a Rooted facilitator. In-Person classes will have a Rooted teacher.

Starting Dates

Fall semester begins in late August, and Spring semester begins in January.

Classes

Rooted will host 3 classes per semester, live or online on the CHC campus. In–person classes will meet once or twice a week. Full-time students can add more online classes for individual study.

There are 30 online courses to choose from in the CCU-Academy catalog. As we expand our Rooted in-person classes, we will have even more options for students to choose from.
