Parent involvement
The nature of a co-op is that parents are involved in every aspect of their students’ schooling, and work together with other parents to educate their children collectively. Because we are NOT a school, but a parent cooperative for independent homeschoolers, all co-op families have active roles in many areas of CHC.
There are a multitude of parent roles that require investment and time, but are invaluable for the success of our program. In the 2023-24 School Year, every family will be required to commit to either 3 hours per week or 2 full, 6 hour days per month of parent support at CHC. This can be time spent in a classroom, help in collecting and preparing materials, helping monitor recess & lunch times, helping clean and more.
As a co-op, it is important for all of us that families are involved in the co-op, and are actively building and investing in our community as we work together in educating our students. We want to avoid the “drop-off” mentality, and to build a community of homeschooling families who work together and support each other in schooling their students.
If you’d like to speak with Wendy, our parent coach about parent panels please email her at [email protected]. (For enrollment information and questions please fill out the Inquiry form. )
co-op model
We offer a unique co-op model for independent homeschooling families with the opportunity to engage in workshops and unit studies on Mondays and Wednesdays, to build skills and learn together. On Fridays, we offer a myriad of optional electives for all ages.

Homeschooling
We strongly believe that homeschooling can provide a robust and thorough education, enabling students to thrive as they work towards mastery in all areas of learning. Our model provides the best of both worlds—the benefits and freedoms of homeschooling combined with the opportunity to be taught by passionate instructors alongside small groups of peers and friends. Parents/Guardians remain the primary educator and we aim to support the parent/guardian and student in their homeschooling goals.

A Word from Director
Leah Rixmann
Dear Prospective CHC family,
Welcome to our website. We hope it helps you get a glimpse of how we joyfully homeschool together in community. We feel that our unique model provides freedom within structure to homeschool families of all experiences and ages.
We know that making decisions for your child’s education is one of the biggest responsibilities of parenting. Whether you are jumping into homeschooling for the first time, or already homeschooling and looking for a co-op, CHC may be what you’re looking for.
We offer co-op classes for students K-12. Our program provides core classes 2 days a week, for full days, or part-time. Enrichment classes on Fridays host a variety of age and interest groups, changing with each quarter. Our classes are taught by passionate instructors and parents are heavily involved in our day-to-day operations.
Our love for Jesus and His children is at the heart of all we do. Our faith in Christ and adherence to his Word is woven through all our classes. (Our Statement of Faith is listed under the “About” tab).
Academically, our desire is to spark and foster the natural love of learning that we believe is in all children. We focus on teaching them HOW to learn, thus setting them up for success. We consider our role to be in support of the homeschool parent, who is the ultimate authority in the education of their children.
Please browse all the tabs of our website to get a full picture of our program. You can also get a glimpse of our wonderful teaching staff.
You are welcome to come in to see what is happening here, and talk with us, if you think we may be a good fit for your family. Click on the tab at the top of this page to schedule an appointment. I look forward to meeting you!
God Bless You,
